Speckled "Agatha Shawl"

August 30, 2019

PROJECT DETAILS

Status Finished
Started June 8 2019
Completed August 30 2019
Pattern Name Agatha Shawl
Designer Mone Drager
Yarn Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light 2 skeins
Needles US 3 / 3.25 mm 40" Circular

NOTES

I was a little confused at first, as I thought that this was a colorwork project. Really, though, the pattern is the result of a slipped stitch pattern.

My (A) color was dark gray and my (B) color was light. I used speckled yarn which caused the pattern to look more variegated. After some doubts, I decided I liked the effect. The bind-off method was challenging at first, but I eventually knit the bind-off using the (A) color in my left hand (Continental) and with the (B) color in my right hand (English).

UPDATE 10/2020: I love the design, but I don’t wear it as frequently. I like my shawls to be longer, so that they can wrap around my neck and stay on better.

FINAL THOUGHTS

  • I liked the pattern, but I wish the finished shawl were longer. I would knit again, but I would keep going with repeats to extend the length.
