NOTES

Simple, classic, useful knit. Will probably knit again and again.

Rough, back-of-the-envelope notes. Not tested or checked for accuracy.
Vanilla
- CO 16 stitches, Judy’s Magic Cast-On
- R1: Knit around needle 1, knit into back loop needle 2
- R2: Knit 1, M1R, knit to last two stitches, M1L, Knit 1 (for needle 1 and needle 2)
- Repeat Rows 1 & 2, until there are 24 stitches both needles, 48 total
- Knit around (both needles) until the foot measures 6 3/4” (knit up to Row 73) Row 74 choose heel side and begin gusset increases on one needle (M1R & M1L); Row 75 knit around both needlesRepeat rows 74 & 75 until increase needle has 46 stitches Row 99 - (after fleegle heel) & decreases, 12 rows of 2x2 rib aroundOn row 13, 2x2 rib loosely cast off with size 2.5 mm needles

METHOD

Two-at-a-time
Toe-up
1-"40 inch" circular needle, magic loop method
1 ball of yarn, knitting from both the center and the end of the yarn (outside of ball)
Bind off with 1 needle size larger (2.5mm)
[Next time] 48 stitches for the foot, but will need to increase to 56 stitches every other row after the heel

FINAL THOUGHTS

Well-used finished object; possibly my most worn pair of socks (all seasons, indoors)
